Work from Home Opportunity offers a bunch of hidden benefits beyond the most obvious, that of making from a few extra bucks a month to a full blown new career… depending on the nature and type of your work from home business opportunity.
I started in mine as ‘something to do' to earn some extra income.
However, as the economy took its toll on both my husband and me and then, later, as my sons struggled to find their way in an uncertain world, I was able to bring them into this whole new world of better income and stability.
So, the first benefit beyond the excellent income is that I am able to make this a family affair which also didn't hurt in enrolling other people into the same concept… and always for the same reasons.
Also, because we are fairly well advanced in our years, it became alarmingly obvious that, at our ages, nobody would hire us. So, what started out part-time, of necessity, became full time. However, what we also discovered to be a truism, is that it becomes easier as it develops its own momentum which, once started, seems to be unstoppable.
From the benefits side of the equation, what we noticed is that many of our new people are almost all like my husband and me at our ages and for the younger crowd like my sons. If they are not out of work, they have a reasonable fear that someday soon they will be. I only wish we had heeded the warning signs and signed up earlier.
The downside to work from home opportunity is that there are a number of other legitimate work from home opportunities that are just not worth it. Stuffing envelopes pays about $1 an hour. Answering surveys works only in the USA and requires a lot of work to make even $4 an hour. Data entry pays about $3 if you're really good. And, if you can't work from some reason, no money.
As you age, and if you don't have a pension, you need residual income. And, it's out there. Believe me.
Of course, there are a bunch of MLMs that, while decent to good, can require a major commitment with little or no gain even after many years.
We went through several of them over a ten year period. Many of them are still around. But, they just didn't match up with our core values. And, that's important if you want to both make a living and actually enjoy what you're doing. And, that enjoyment comes from being able to pick up the phone and have a really enjoyable conversation with my enrollees. I hope that makes sense.
In any work from home opportunity you must know your ‘why' and you must know the ‘whys' of the people you bring into your opportunity. As I mentioned, I worked this part time for years. And, that's because my ‘why' wasn't committed enough. Even when I was forced to do this full time, the ‘why' still hadn't caught up.
Its only when I brought on board one of my people who was just like we had become. To be able to change her life as we were starting to improve our own all made sense and the ‘why' now had both great reason and purpose. Maybe that's the secret to a successful work from home opportunity.
